Youth Aikido Class
For
Students Ages 7-14
The focus of Aikido
practice of the Academy of Zen and the Ways is training to center
body, breath and mind through Zen and Aikido.
Program
The beginning
course in Youth Aikido will teach the student fundamentals necessary
for the practice of Aikido in the Academy of Zen and the Ways,
School of Budo. This
will include the practice of Zazen (sitting meditation), stretching
exercises, centering and focusing exercises, and basic Aikido
techniques, falls and rolls. A
certificate of completion will be issued at the successful
completion of the course, which qualifies the student for
participation in regular classes of the Youth Aikido Program.
A short meeting
with parents will be held by the instructor(s),
prior to the first class at 8:30 AM.
At least one parent will be required to attend.
